Master of Biology Education Curriculum — Academic Document 2022

Official academic document of the 2022 Curriculum for the Master of Biology Education Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.


Program Objectives

The program aims to produce graduates with expertise in biology education, capable of advancing the field through research, innovation, digital transformation, and leadership while maintaining Pancasila values and global competitiveness.


Graduate Profiles

  • Biology Education Lecturer — Mastery of theory and application in teaching, research, innovation, and ICT integration.
  • Biology Education Researcher — Skilled in research methodology, ICT, international languages, and scientific publication.
  • Curriculum & Learning Developer — Ability to design innovative curricula aligned with local culture, workforce needs, and global dynamics.
  • Developer of Media & Learning Materials — Expertise in producing ICT/AR/VR-based learning media and LMS integration.


Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

  1. PO

    PO-1:Graduates excel as Biology Education professionals and lecturers who integrate theoretical foundations with practical applications to advance teaching and learning in higher education.

    PO-2:

    Graduates advance Biology Education research by employing appropriate methodologies to investigate and address fundamental objects, issues, and challenges in Biology Education,

    PO-3:

    Graduates lead curriculum and instructional development in Biology that reflects curriculum principles, educational dynamics, cultural and local potentials, and workforce demands in national and global contexts

    PO-4:

    Graduates develop innovative ICT-based media and learning materials for Biology education, encompassing digital resources, instructional media, and learning management systems that support effective learning in schools and higher education

    PLO

    PLO-1: Apply scientific attitudes, curiosity, environmental awareness, tolerance, and critical thinking within lifelong learning principles.

    PLO-2: Analyze essential and advanced biology materials as content and context for biology learning at universities/schools

    PLO-3: Developing innovative biology curriculum and learning in schools/universities.

    PLO-4: Developing biology learning media and materials based on technology and/or local potential/wisdom

    PLO-5: Developing assessment and evaluation of biology learning in universities/schools

    PLO-6: Solving biology learning problems through research and/or studies based on multi/ interdisciplinary approaches

    PLO-7: Developing Science and Technology in the Field of Biology Education through research and/or innovative work

    PLO-8: Communicate ideas, analysis results, and biology education research orally and/or in writing at the national and/or international level

    PLO-9: Developing laboratory-based biology learning activities (indoor or outdoor laboratory)

    PLO-10: Analyzing biology education phenomena and trends through reviews of national and international publications
