Master of Biology Education Curriculum — Academic Document 2025

Official academic document of the 2025 Curriculum for the Master of Biology Education Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.


Introduction

This academic document serves as the scientific foundation for developing the 2025 Curriculum of the Master of Biology Education Program. The revision aligns with national policies (Permendikbudristek No. 53/2023), the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), tracer study results, and the needs of 21st-century education, including digital integration, entrepreneurship, and sustainability issues.


Vision & Mission (overview)

Program vision:

“To become an internationally recognized Master’s Program in Biology Education that excels in developing educational innovations, advancing biology education research, and implementing community service based on local wisdom, environmental sustainability, and digital transformation”

The mission emphasizes research-based education, digital integration, local potential development, and local–global collaboration to improve graduate quality and scientific publications.


Graduate Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate devotion to God Almighty, uphold human values, academic integrity, and professional ethics.

  2. Show responsibility for work in the field of expertise independently and as part of a team, with integrity and leadership.

  3. Develop knowledge of biology education through scientific reasoning, research, and publication at national and international levels.

  4. Solve problems in biology education by applying inter- and multidisciplinary approaches.

  5. Design innovative biology education curricula in line with scientific, technological, and societal developments.

  6. Develop biology learning models that integrate digital technology, environmental issues, and local wisdom.

  7. Produce teaching materials and learning media in biology education based on ICT, AR/VR, and LMS.

  8. Develop laboratory-based learning, field studies, and research-based learning in biology.

  9. Conduct independent, original, and ethical research in biology education to produce theses and scientific publications.

  10. Communicate ideas, arguments, and research results in academic forums and publications.

  11. Develop entrepreneurial skills in the field of biology education.

  12. Apply lifelong learning skills, critical thinking, and adaptability in responding to global challenges.
