With these goals, the Visiting Professor activity is expected to have a significant positive impact on academic and research development in the Biology Education Study Program-S2 FMIPA UNY.
This Visiting Professor program presents Dr. Mohd Hamzah Bin Mohd Nasir, Assistant Professor (Biotechnology) and Professional Technologist (Biotechnology) from International Islamic University Malaysia. Dr. Hamzah give a lesson on the topic "Application of Biotechnology in the Medical Field."
Topics to be covered include:
1. Application of Recombinant DNA Technology in Animal Husbandry and Medical: Production of monoclonal vaccines and antibodies.
2. Animal Cloning: Techniques and their applications.
3. Genome Editing and Its Application in Gene Therapy: Genome Editing and Its Application in Gene Therapy.
4. PCR and Protein Analysis: PCR techniques and protein analysis.
In addition to lecture activities, Dr. Hamzah also hold a training entitled "Toxicity and Teratogenicity using Zebrafish Embryo (Based on OECD 236 Protocol)" aimed at laboratory workers and lecturers who are interested in the topic. This training aims to increase the knowledge of lecturers and laboratories about the use of zebrafish as experimental animal models for research.
This Visiting Professor program is expected to provide new insights and enrich the knowledge of students and teaching staff about biotechnology applications in the medical field.
